BE WELL!
Edit: I am so sorry to hear about your virus! I hope they take good care of you at the hospital. Again, BE WELL!

it's been a long time since i posted here but i often read your messages when ian (dansk) logs on.
as most of you will know, ian will be going back into hospital on monday for an allogeneic stem cell transplant and will be away from the forum for a good few weeks (hopefully he'll be back home within 4-6 weeks).
last time he was in hospital many of you sent messages to his ward and i know they cheered him up immensely.

Children Of God = COG
hi everyone, and thanks for all your sweet messages.
it's been a long time since i posted on here, almost 3 months i think, but i know that trev has been keeping you all updated about me, as well as printing your good wishes for me.
i don't want to dwell on my situation, but want to say how happy i am to be posting again.
I felt so happy to see that you posted here, Linda! I have missed you. -Joy
on the strength that my recent post concerning cheetos went to 3 pages and was referenced in at least 3 other threads, i feel that the time has come to discuss another most important topic: shower soap.. this thread topic most definitely falls under the category of intellectual starvation topics, so you should be forewarned that terry will not approve.
heh...(just funnin' yah terry).
to the point: i here refer to a liquid soap meant to be applied to a wet shower poof and then scrubbed onto the skin.
I thought that was absolutely hilarious!
for someone who believes this life is the only life (no afterlife, heaven, resurrection, reincarnation...), should i move to be close to my family?.
even though i have left the org.
they still talk with me, visit, i vacation with them... we have always been a closeknit family.
What do you want to do? Whatever you do, you don't have to stay where you're not happy, if you don't want to. Maybe you could live 5,000 miles away part of the year, and be with your family other times. It doesn't have to be so black and white, like the JWs try to make us be.
recently i have noticed that a couple of my friends that are jws, especially this one guy that i play sports with.
in the beginning he was just there because of a friend, but later on he came more often and we became friends.
from the start, i knew there was something different about him.
BTW, you can always pretend to be "an interested one" while actually working to break down your buddy's defenses, if you want to devote a LOT of time to it. Others here have successfully done just that.

What a trip!
Mum's the word when other JWs are around, but beware, you never can be sure about who's spying on you and your friend. Seriously, because it's a cult.
But the "spies" are often dressed like Mormons, so usually you can tell. They also often have a judgmental glint in their eye, LOL, and are very serious-looking most of the time, especially at "worldly" events like ball games, although not all of them are so stiff.
Good luck with all that. I feel sorry for your friend, but he is lucky to have someone like you who is so sensitive and observant about the situation. Maybe someday he will get out of the cult.
Maybe you could help prevent him from getting baptized, which is essentially like marrying the religion, if he has not done it already. It's a very bad thing, especially for such a young person to do.
because it is hot as hell outside, it has to be 113 at least, when you walk outside you feel like you are on fire, someone make it stop!
i can't imagine going out in service in this heat but this morning on my way to work what do i see?
faithful jws walking the streets, should it be considered child abuse to make children go out in ervice in this heat?.
As a kid, I would throw up in service from the heat. Never stopped my parents.
changeling
Awww, changeling! How awful. I'm glad you don't have to do that anymore.
